A total of 900km of waterways connected to rivers, canals, water inlets etc makes Kerala a water land. Vembanad Lake is the biggest lake in Kerala; Alleppey and Kumarakom are the major tourist spots enjoying this lake. One can hire a Houseboat for a night stay which cruises along the backwaters. Houseboats are the traditional Kettuvalloms and now a day’s it’s been modified for luxury stay with all facilities of a hotel with a living area, bedroom, toilets and kitchen.
